The Elephant Sanctuary provides herd, home, rest, refuge, and individualized care for life, and raises public awareness of the complex needs and challenges of elephants.

Bending Bayous Community has scheduled 2 sessions with the Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee. These are free and open to all Girl Scouts in our Community. You can register as a troop or ask your troop parents to register their girls individually. The Elephant Sanctuary will share information about each individual elephant that is currently living at the Sanctuary,  as well as general information about elephants: their adaptations, their diets, how to tell the species apart, etc. Plus, they have live Elecams!

While we believe our troops will enjoy these sessions as fun stand-alone activities, some levels may choose to incorporate this into a journey or badge. We’ve provided some suggestions below.

Session 1 for Daisies and Brownies:
Dec 29, 2020 11:00 AM

  • Daisy – 5 Flowers, 4 Stories, 3 Cheers For Animals! Daisy Journey
  • Brownie – A fun activity!

Session 2 for Juniors to Ambassadors:
Dec 29, 2020 1:00 PM

  • Junior – Animal Habitats
  • Cadette – Animal Helpers
  • Senior – Voice for Animals
  • Ambassador – A fun activity!
